New matches confirmed for SummerSlam

A few days ago we listed the matches that have been confirmed for SummerSlam and last night on RAW more matches were added to the card.
We predicted all of these a few days ago anyway, but here is a full list of the most recent confirmed matches;


AJ Lee vs Paige - For the Diva's Title;

Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton;

The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler - For the Intercontinental Title

Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose - (With a stipulation of Ambrose' choosing TBC);

Let's all hope Ambrose chooses one of these as his stipulation...

 

Raw Rumour: No Cena or Lesnar on tonight's show

We are hearing rumours that neither World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, or his Summerslam opponent Brock Lesnar, will be appearing on RAW tonight.

It's no surprise that Lesnar isn't appearing and perhaps therefore it shouldn't come as a shock that Cena isn't either.

I mean, if Cena's main rival isn't going to be in the building, then why should he be?
What's the point?

With Lesnar's reported contract only including PPV's and a few RAW appearances - Is this going to become the norm?

If he does beat Cena and win the titles at Summerslam, we will be seeing those two golden belts on television a LOT less often.

For me, that would be a real shame.

That's why at Summerslam - I'm team Cena.

SummerSlam Lineup So Far

Quite a few matches have already been confirmed for SummerSlam.
Here is how the card is looking so far;

John Cena vs Brock Lesnar - For the WWE World Heavyweight Championship;




Stephanie McMahon vs Brie Bella;




Jack Swagger vs Rusev - Flag Match;




Chris Jericho vs Bray Wyatt




So those are the confirmed matches so far, obviously with another 3 or 4 to come.

On Smackdown last night, Randy Orton challenged Roman Reigns to a match at SummerSlam. I would imagine Reigns will accept on Raw this coming Monday.

After cruelly denying us (the fans) a match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose at Battleground, the WWE really owe us this one at SummerSlam.
What with Rollins running away from Ambrose any time he is challenged, this could be leading to a steel cage match.
Not sure how Ambrose would get Rollins and The Authority to agree to it. But if they can work out a way to do it, I'm sure it will be an awesome match - Probably the most exciting on the whole card.

Paige's heel turn on AJ was about as predictable as the sun rising and setting. With this rivalry continuing to hot up (and with Paige getting crazier every week) expect this to be a Divas title match at SummerSlam.

Finally for now, the other title rivalry seems to be between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental strap.
With the amount of air time WWE are investing in this feud, surely a match will be on the card in two weeks time.

The WWE Network - Good things come to those who wait

It has just been revealed the the WWE Network will be rolled out across 170 countries on the 12th August.
Those countries include Australia, Russia, Canada and Spain amongst others.


In Canada the WWE Network product will be offered to viewers as a subscription TV channel. Much to the delight of many Canadian WWE fans. I've even heard a few people saying they are now moving to Canada as a result!

Meanwhile, here in the UK, we are having to wait until October to get the WWE Network!

OCTOBER!?

The UK is WWE's second biggest marketplace after the USA itself. So I'm guessing they think the product is safe enough in the UK for the moment as it is.

When it does finally get released in the UK, lets just hope it is a similar deal to the one in Canada.
Maybe Sky Sports will host a seperate channel specifically for the Network?

Now THAT would be 'Over The Top'.

How do you solve a problem like Seth Rollins?

WWE pulled off a masterstroke when Seth Rollins turned on his Shield 'brothers' Ambrose and Reigns.
Not only was it one of the best heel turns in a LONG time, but also, and maybe more importantly, it has been the launchpad for the three members of The Shield to go solo.

For Roman Reigns the objective appears to be a clear one from the WWE; To get him over enough as a singles wrestler in order for him to eventually become World Heavyweight Champion.
As discussed by many industry experts the ideal time for this would be at Wrestlemania 31. Maybe against Brock Lesnar? Who knows?

The one thing we all know for sure is that Seth Rollins is currently Mr. Money In The Bank. Usually this would be a good thing for any WWE superstar to have in their possession and it may well turn out to be that way for Rollins too.
However I'm struggling to see where a Rollins title reign fits into the masterplan. And more importantly if he is ready for it yet.

Like most people, I'm expecting Lesnar to pick up the belts at SummerSlam.
If he does take the titles from Cena, can you really see Rollins cashing in MITB against The Beast?

Lesnar is one of the most dominant Superstars in WWE history. He manhandled the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. He may well do the same to Cena at SummerSlam.

So what chance does an upstart like Rollins have against Lesnar?
In my opinion; Very little chance. I just don't think I could buy into him pinning Lesnar 1, 2, 3.

If Lesnar does win at SummerSlam you would imagine his title reign will be a fairly dominant and long-lived one. Some have even speculated that a Lesnar title run could stretch right through to Wrestlemania next year, when Reigns can take the straps from him and have his moment in the sun.

So here's the question; How do you solve a problem like Seth Rollins?

   

RAW Rundown 28/07/2014

If you missed out on RAW last night, here is all you need to know;

John Cena got very emotional about his impending doom at Summerslam. After a war of words with Paul Heyman he was confronted by Heyman's ex 'client' Cesaro;

Y2J interrupted The Authority, and as predicted, was given a match against Bray Wyatt at SummerSlam;

SHOCK OF THE NIGHT - Went to R-Truth ending Bo Dallas' streak;

Which in turn, gave us the excuse to make this meme;

Randy Orton SNAPPED on Roman Reigns;

But the grand finale was saved for Stephanie & Brie;

We make the score 2-1 to Stephanie in terms of slaps. So Brie certainly owes her one by our reckoning.

The streak is over for Bo Dallas. R-Truth was the man to break the streak. Yep, you heard me right. I said R-Truth.
